Mentors
The mentor develops the motivation and competence to master the curriculum. They are capable of examining problems from novel perspectives, proposing original solutions, making decisions while providing encouragement in critical situations, and setting an example with their life.
Who are they?
To implement the foundation’s program, the Foundation selects mentors from among committed and professionally prepared educators, social workers, and child protection professionals. Mentors are full-time employees of the Foundation.
What do they do?
The mentor’s task is the development of the children belonging to their group and the organization of developmental activities. With the help of the specialists working at the Foundation, the mentor compiles the development plans for the children in their group, organizes individual or group developmental sessions, cultural and sports programs, excursions, and thematic specialized camps. They maintain regular contact with the parents and the school. They monitor the social situation of the children entrusted to them, and participate in the assessment and administration of individual social support. Mentoring work is a long-term commitment. Almost imperceptibly, the mentor becomes a family member who experiences both the joys and difficulties of everyday life with the family members.
Where are they present?
The Foundation’s activities in the various regions are organized around Community Houses (talent points), which provide the opportunity for holding developmental sessions, parent-teacher meetings, Family and Open Days, the Parents’ Academy program series, as well as for active community life. Within the program, the Community Houses and the mentors form a network that mutually supports one another.
Students’ Parliament
The Students’ Parliament is the child-led organisation of the Csányi Foundation, which was established in 2011. Children from each Community Centre and group elect a representative by mutual agreement to represent their group at the annual meetings. Their work is coordinated and assisted by a mentor: from the beginning until 2018, Angéla Vancsuráné Sárközi from Kaposvár, then from 2018 to 2024, it was Annamária Éles from Mohács, and currently, it is András Gál, the mentor of Pécs 2 group.

They are also responsible for promoting, organising and running the Foundation’s football, chess, foosball and e-sports tournaments. They also have the right to give opinions and suggestions in the development of the Foundation’s Code of Conduct and House Policy. They have initiated the tradition of an all-arts camp and a sports camp.
