Dávid Horváth

I am Dávid Horváth, born in 1979 in Győr. I spent my high school years in Mosonmagyaróvár. I obtained my high school diploma at the six-year Kossuth Lajos Bilingual Grammar School, and then continued my studies in Csongrád county at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Szeged, where I graduated with a degree in German language and literature and teaching in 2003. During my university years, I had the opportunity to put my German knowledge into practice as a tour guide. In this way, I got to know Switzerland, Austria, and especially Italy very well. I consider it important to get to know other cultures and customs, and to adopt and integrate good habits into everyday life. This can be an idea, an attitude, or a flavor with which we can make our everyday life richer and more colorful.

I came to Mohács in 2008 during the construction of the M6 tunnel, where I worked as an interpreter. Since then, I have been living here with my wife and children.

Besides traveling and languages, my other hobby is cooking, so in 2009 I sat back on the school bench again to pass the chef exam.

From 2014, I worked as a German teacher at the Völgyesi and Brodarics Primary School of the Mohács Regional ÁMK, where I first encountered children living in deep poverty. By that time, a few of my students had already been admitted to the Csányi Foundation, which is how I got to know the Guidance Program, the long-term positive effects of which I can see, proving that there is an opportunity to break out of poverty with talent and perseverance, and that it is easier to cope with the challenges of everyday life in a supportive community.

In 2025, I became the mentor of the M2 group of the Csányi Foundation, and my goal is for my students to find their own path and place in the adult world.
