Another success in athletics
The athletics season just like the school year is coming to its end. Kovács Péter had to compete with adult man competitors before the summer holiday at the International Balaton Championship which was organised at the weekend in Veszprém.
It was a big challenge to Péter. But, as usual, he surprised all of us and had great results. In the always windy Veszprém the competitors had to compete with wind as well. ‘Out of 21 competitors, 18 of them were older than me, I came 9th place in 100 metre sprint lacking only 0.05 seconds from being qualified into the final. I had 11.71 seconds in -4.1 headwind. So, if I do this in +1.5 tail wind, it could have meant 11.2 which means individual record, that is for sure’ said Péter about the race.
In long jump he could improve his own results; he jumped 30 cm longer than his previous best record pushing him up to the 4th place of youth rank list. His performance was enough for the 9th place in the adult competition.
The final will be in Budapest at the end of July. Go, Peti, go!
