The tenth occasion is always more than an anniversary: it is a look back at the journey traveled so far, and at the same time a new momentum toward the future. The 10th All-Arts Creative Camp organized in Sarlóspuszta fittingly celebrates this milestone this year with the theme “Tenth Wave,” which simultaneously symbolizes progress, perseverance, the continuous renewal of creative power, and that community strength that has sustained this special gathering for ten years.
Between August 9 and 15, Sarlóspuszta once again becomes the home of creation, talent, and inspiration. At the anniversary 10th All-Arts Creative Camp, 209 participants arrive to explore the limitless possibilities of art together and experience that special atmosphere that only such a diverse creative community can provide.
The camp’s motto this year, “Tenth Wave,” is not merely a theme. It is a symbol. The embodiment of the moment when a person has already overcome countless challenges, yet is capable of stepping forward with renewed strength. The wave signifies movement, change, and connection all at once. Just as water draws ever larger circles, the camp participants shape each other and their environment.
Eleven Arts Sections, Endless Possibilities
Participants can unfold their talents in 11 different arts sections. The camp is not only about creation, but also about young people discovering their own strengths, stepping out of their usual frameworks, and boldly seeking new paths.
The close-to-nature environment provides an ideal backdrop for this process. Here, creation meets self-awareness, creativity meets the community experience, and talent meets bold self-expression. In one week, not only works of art are born, but also friendships, memories, and experiences that become defining for a long time to come.
A Community Built Without Borders
One of the most joyful elements of the camp is that, thanks to the foundation’s talent support program, 20 young people from Transylvania are also participating in the event together with their chaperones. Their presence further enriches the cultural and human diversity that makes the creative camp special year after year.
The implementation of the program is supported by the Directorate General for Social Affairs and Child Protection of Harghita and Covasna Counties. Special thanks go to Director General Zoltán Elekes, Office Head Gabriella Fehér, Angéla Zsurzs, Zsuzsanna Ambrus, and Melinda Holló, who contribute with their committed cooperation to making this experience a reality for as many young people as possible.
There Are People Behind the Wave
The success of such a complex and large-scale event is often ensured by those working in the background. The coordinated work of foundation staff, junior mentors, developmental teachers, and volunteers creates the safe and inspiring environment in which every participant can flourish.
The “Tenth Wave” is therefore not only a creative theme, but also a shared experience: a force that connects people and offers an opportunity to find each other through the language of art.

Every participant in the creative camp becomes part of another wave. A wave that has been shaping communities, inspiring young people, and proving for ten years: talent truly unfolds when given the opportunity to flow freely. The Tenth Wave is now setting off. The only question is: whom and how high will it lift along with it.
Introduction of Sections:
Nature Photography Section: “On August 9, the 10th All-Arts Creative Camp began, with which the work of the nature photography section also got underway. The weekly plan builds on the pattern of previous years; in the mornings (thanks to the size of the team) we go out into nature in two groups to supplement the images we took at the workshops and in the Baks nature photography camp. Our younger members naturally receive instruction as well with the help of our more experienced photographers. Another important activity of ours is image retouching, through which we can improve the quality of our works. We then select each camper’s 5 best pictures, which will be exhibited so everyone can admire them on Friday before, during, and after the closing ceremony. On the first day, due to the intense heat, we mostly managed to capture a praying mantis, an ant, and a spider on lens, but we are always persistently searching for ever more interesting subjects. In the coming days, we will certainly visit a few sand dune areas, look for lizards, snails, and other small creatures, and we are also happy to undertake capturing food. So, after a great opening day, we look forward to the week with excitement; we want to stay true to our performance provided over the years, and our goal is to offer the camp audience as deep an insight into nature through our pictures as possible.” Lead topic mentor: Péter Mikics, Szeged Group 2
Graphics Section: “This year as well, we are striving to support the work of the other sections with the graphic materials they need. We are creating posters for their introductory exhibitions and performances, and we are excitedly looking forward to seeing where and in what form the wave motif serving as the camp’s theme appears.” Lead topic developer: Szilvia Fatér
Lego Section: “The Lego team started the season and the preparation within the framework of the Sarlóspuszta arts camp with 6 members and 2 junior mentors this year. The new Lego track has arrived, which we started working on right on the first day since this was what we were looking forward to most. This year’s theme is Bioglow, which is reflected in the elements of the track, and we will be brainstorming on the topic of innovation. We will try to involve the campers in this brainstorming as well. Robot building is one of the most complex things that we will adapt to the track, along with the accessories, which requires great care and concentration. Another thing we will try to work on is a small retrospective regarding the events and successes of past years, which we will also build into our presentation.” Lead topic mentor: Tamás Oláh, Jászberény Group 2
Media Section: “What happens when ten different creative worlds meet in one place for a week? The task of the Media section is not only to live through this, but to capture it as well. This year we face a special year: we are meeting for the tenth time at the All-Arts Camp. There will be music, theater, fine arts, photography, and much more again – and we will be there to catch the moments, the big ideas, the unexpected situations, and of course the camp’s incomparable atmosphere. In the Media section, it will be possible to create both behind and in front of the camera. There will be those trying out a camera for the first time, while others move around the set with more routine. One thing, however, is common: we want to show what the tenth All-Arts Camp looks like from the inside. What exactly is being created during the week? Drama Section: “In the drama section, the most important thing is for the participating young people to learn as much as possible about themselves using the toolkit of drama and theater – that is, personality development is the main goal. Because of this, the process of creation is in focus – specifically by creating an original, collective performance: we are not staging a literary drama, but a play created in every respect by the actors themselves.
There is no casting in the traditional sense, there are no leading or supporting roles; everyone receives a task just large enough to push their own boundaries while remaining within their comfort zone, and each person determines this for themselves according to the extent of their contribution to the work.
This year, a ‘poem sculpture park’ provides the framework for all this: we process the poems that speak to the actors most and are closest to their personality and demeanor, displaying the feelings and thoughts evoked by them through theatrical means (music, movement, performance, recitation, etc.), and then – as in an outdoor exhibition space – we guide our audience through the ‘sculpture park.’ Through games, exercises, and conversations, we will get closer and closer to having the performers’ need to communicate meet theatrical language, and then, during an ‘accelerated’ rehearsal process, shape the material gathered in this way into a finished performance.” Lead topic developer: Ibolya Csapiné Matos
Felt Section: “Today marked the start of the anniversary 10th All-Arts Camp, the first day of which was spent comfortably setting up the felt workshop and getting to know one another. Children wishing to create arrived at our section from several community houses, from Szentes, Kaposvár, Jászberény, and Transylvania, and in the afternoon they enthusiastically set to work. The young people immediately immersed themselves in creation and tried their hand at both needle felting and wet felting techniques. During the camp, we also plan a joint creation in our section, combining felting and leathercraft.” Lead topic mentor: Ildikó Nagy, Jászberény Group 3
Creative Writing: “With the creative writers, after the Szentes camp and a brief rest, we continue our creative work in Sarlóspuszta, joined by new members and our friends from Transylvania. This time, aligning with the camp’s theme, we are also exploring the topic of water. Among other things, we will deal with water as a literary symbol and mythical figures linked to water, but section members can also learn about the stream-of-consciousness technique, and we will try to describe our feelings arranged into rhymes. For interested attendees, as usual, there will be an opportunity again this year to gain insight into our work through a reading evening assembled from the creations born during the week.” Lead topic junior mentor: Izabella Patyi, Szeged Group 3
Chamber Orchestra: “‘Tenth Wave’ – the theme of the Sarlóspuszta All-Arts Camp coincides with the 10th birthday of our group, the Chamber Orchestra! With the members of the orchestra, we are preparing a very colorful repertoire for the camp again this year, as we establish the music program for the next season here. Beside pieces engaging the entire orchestra, we are also preparing chamber pieces that demonstrate the unique sound of different instrument groups. We also wish to continue the collaboration with other sections that has become almost a tradition in recent years, since the all-arts camp is the best ground for multiple branches of art to truly intertwine and inspire each other. Our team is expanding with new members this year: a violinist, a pianist, and a tubist are also joining us. We are looking forward to meeting them, as there is no better occasion than the all-arts camp for new members to join the life of the orchestra. The creative work takes place under the guidance of our developmental teachers, during which we pay attention to the balance between concentrated rehearsals and leisure programs. Orchestra play requires sensitive mutual attention, but spending free time together is also essential for team building.” Lead topic developer: Adriána Kalafszky
Csányi Band: “On the first day of the All-Arts Camp, following the welcome speech and lunch, we discussed the schedule for the upcoming week during the Csányi Band orientation. Compared to previous years, we made a modification to pay more personal attention to our applicant musicians regarding the musical knowledge of the younger ones and its development: The older ones are holding smaller, practical workshops according to their own specialization this year to share our acquired experience, and we are giving private instrument lessons to the younger Csányi Band musicians.” Lead topic junior mentor: Andrea Kalla, Jászberény Group 2
Acrylic and Watercolor Section: “The Painting section launched for the tenth time this year. There are thirty of us, making ours the largest group. We work with a program series built day by day throughout the week. First, the children create still lifes, portraits, and landscapes using watercolor paint, getting acquainted with techniques and the basics of painting. This year, as every year, we cooperate with other sections to jointly create all-arts projects. At the end of the week, abstract tasks follow, building on the camp’s theme. I consider it very important to attend to the children individually with dedicated attention and to develop in everyone what they are truly good at. Animation Section: “The animation and filmmaking section takes place in the spirit of the 10th wave theme. The children work organized into groups, coming up with creative thoughts and themes right from the start of the camp. At the expression 10th wave, thoughts just swirl, and a lot of ideas come up during discussions. At the start, a basic topic was given, from which several trains of thought have already started in the children’s minds. Storyboards and small set designs were already emerging on the first day, and this is only expanding; stop motion, 2D animation, and video materials have already appeared, waiting to be kneaded and assembled.” Lead topic developer: Barnabás Szövényi
A Week That Connects, Inspires, and Creates Lasting Experiences
“This summer again, we were able to experience the power of community, the value of creative collaboration, and the joy of creation. The camp’s diverse and rich programs not only enriched participants with new knowledge, but also provided experiences that will remain with us for a long time. Throughout the week, new stories, shared experiences, and inspiring moments were born night after night, crowned as a fitting conclusion by the Farewell Evening capping off the days spent together.
One of the camp’s special traditions came to life again this year: the evening open sections provided an opportunity for participants to gain insight into each other’s work and progress. These occasions went far beyond simple introductions: they became genuine professional and community meeting points where new connections were formed, valuable experiences were exchanged, and numerous inspiring conversations unfolded.
The highlight event of the week was undoubtedly the Farewell Evening, which created an unforgettable atmosphere again this year. It is a special joy and honor that Gábor Marosi, Trustee of the Csányi Foundation, and his wife Viktória Marosi-Marczell also attended the Farewell Evening of the 10th All-Arts Creative Camp.
The sections presented their achievements reached during the week, as well as shared their short- and long-term plans and goals. It was particularly moving to experience how the camp community celebrated each other’s successes with sincere interest and joy, reliving the results of their joint work together.
This camp proved once again that the foundation of real achievements is collaboration, mutual respect, and the appreciation of work performed together. Perhaps, however, the most important lesson is that the experience of creating together generates a special value that provides motivation, self-confidence, and a sense of community for every participant.
