We kicked off our summer camps with a local swimming camp, the participants of which were 13 Csányi students who have completed the 5th grade. Everyone had been looking forward to this camp, as it offered an opportunity for those who could not swim or were unsure of their swimming skills to learn to swim or perfect their technique during this week. In the intense heat, the team was split into 2 groups, and the coach began instruction according to their skill levels. As the days passed, they became more and more skillful, growing increasingly confident in the water, and on the final day, in the deep water as well. It was a joy for them every day to see their knowledge grow, so that by now they can sustain themselves in the water using breaststroke, freestyle, and backstroke. We spent the afternoons at the Community House, where there was an opportunity to participate in an E-sports championship, paint on canvas, and take part in craft activities.

We participated in the 2026 Szentes swimming camp as junior mentors with the Szentes 2 group. Our task was to assist the children during the daily programs, look after them, and contribute to ensuring that everyone had a great time at the camp. The mornings were all about swimming lessons, where the children could develop their skills under the guidance of a swimming instructor, learning to swim day by day. After the swimming lessons, they could use the water slides and pools under the supervision of the mentor and junior mentors, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed. In the afternoon, several colorful programs awaited the campers. There was an opportunity to paint, make bracelets, and play FIFA. As junior mentors, we helped run the programs, since everyone engaged individually with the children’s interests, and we tried to involve everyone in the activities. This camp was a wonderful experience for us because we could get closer to our younger groupmates, and it was a great feeling to see the children enjoying themselves, making new friendships, gaining many experiences, and strengthening the group’s cohesion. We are glad that we could be part of the first camp of this year as mentor assistants. Our camps continue! Gear up for camp!
