On September 19, I looked forward with great excitement to meeting parents and young people at our start-of-year family day. An exciting school year has begun for everyone in the group: some are finishing their university bachelor’s degrees with final exams, thesis papers, and completing internships; some have reached their university specialization and are finally heading toward their true area of interest. Others have begun their higher education as freshmen; our musicians are studying the theory and practice of music at a high level. Still others are sitting at school desks alongside work, entering the ring to earn their high school diploma after obtaining a vocational certificate. And there are those in the team who, as fifth-year students, will take their final high school examinations (érettségi) this school year while grappling with the significant task of career choice. So I believe everyday language uses the phrase “colorful palette” for this, meaning there was especially plenty to discuss. In this eclecticism, coordinating joint programs and carrying out meaningful junior mentor work presents a real challenge. Among our plans are larger and smaller ones: we wish to continue our event series Conversations with Miklós bácsi…, starting right in October by exploring the concept of justice; at the Parents’ Academy, we will discuss generational trends and differences; organizing the fifth poetry festival—something of an anniversary edition—will not require just two days of preparation either; and later, the Hiking Club will provide a good opportunity to unwind. We are facing a busy year ahead, which we kicked off with a start-of-year family day in great spirits. On Saturday, the support agreements were signed as well, and the board game party along with the incomparably delicious Tiramisu made by Levus Sipos’s mother could not be missed, which sweetened our day nicely.
We wish a fantastic school year, success, and joy to Kaposvár Group 2 and, of course, to all our fellow foundation members.
