On Friday, the Pécs Group 2 participated in a drama session, and then in the evening, a special program awaited us. We took part in the Night Runner charity run, which was organized on Széchenyi Square in Pécs to support children living with Duchenne muscular dystrophy. More than 800 people gathered at the start line of the event to jointly draw attention to the power of joining forces.
The Pécs Group 2 of the Csányi Foundation wanted to express its solidarity towards the sick children and their families. We entered the run in several categories, accompanied by our development teacher, Dávid Turi, as well as our mentor assistants, Lili Demerácz and Andrea Balla.
It is a source of great pride for us that in the under-14 age group of the 6-kilometer distance, Gergő Virág achieved 1st place, Levente Szita 4th place, while Bence Benedek Ruppert finished in 5th place. At the award ceremony, our runners received their recognitions wearing Csányi T-shirts, and Gergő shouted into the microphone: “Go Csányi students!”, which was received with great applause.
Parents and volunteers also joined us for the run, so we were enriched with a memorable community experience while standing behind a noble cause.
