The time for Portfolio Defenses has arrived, which comes once for every “Csányi” beneficiary. The tradition came into effect more than 10 years ago, upon the initiative of the Children’s Parliament, as a kind of membership renewal trial. At this time, young people in their high school years present their Guidance Festival so far, their school results, talents, and future vision to the evaluation committee, who provide feedback to the students on their performance and plans. This year, the students of the Jászság 1 group were the first to be put under the microscope, with complex talents and great ambitions. The members of the evaluation committee on this day were: Dr. Erika Csányi, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation, Dr. Sándor Csányi, founder, Gábor Marosi, trustee, dr. Miklós Radoszáv, operational director, and Zsuzsanna Vida, service officer, furthermore, volunteers Terézia Csörgő and Katalin Fülöppné Paksi were also present. Thanks to their diligence, the work invested, and the support of the Foundation, the members of the group were able to close the day successfully.
Report from one of the group’s beneficiaries:
“The long-awaited Portfolio Defense was held on May 7, for which we had been preparing for months, as this is one of the most important events of our foundation life. Our preparation was helped by the continuous support of our mentor, Judit néni, so that we could present our work and the results of the past years in the best possible way. We welcomed our guests with great joy, and it was a special honor for us that President Dr. Sándor Csányi and Chairperson Dr. Erika Csányi also took part in our presentation. The portfolio defense was started by our peers participating in the water testing project, followed by individual presentations, and finally, the presentation of the LEGO robotics group concluded the program. Before the presentation, we were all very nervous, initially a tense yet excited atmosphere prevailed, but as soon as the presentations began, the tension gradually dissolved. It was a great experience to present our portfolio, as we were surrounded by a supportive and helpful atmosphere. We were looking forward to the feedback of the trustees with particular excitement, so it was a huge joy that our group received praise, and we all received useful advice for the future, which we carry forward with confidence on our journey. We are proud that everyone performed successfully, and we can continue our development in the community of the Foundation. Following the program, we took part in a joint lunch, where a good conversation also took place. We are gratefully thankful to the Foundation for the experiences, knowledge, and opportunities gained over the past years with which we could be enriched, as well as the support with which they help the realization of our dreams. We owe special thanks to our mentor, Sziráki Judit néni, for her persistent work, support, and encouragement, as we could always count on her. We also thank the sacrificial work of the Foundation’s developers and volunteers, who contributed with their continuous help to our development and to where we are today.” – Zsófia Barbara Szerző, Jászság 1 group
The portfolio defenses will continue next week at the Szentes Community House.
