On May 20, 2026, the Encsi Zrínyi Ilona Primary School of the Szerencs District School Centre hosted the Super Final of the National Darts Math Team Competition. At this prestigious event, the Community House of Szentes was represented by four students: András Szőke, Kevend Gábriel Czombos, Olivér Béniám-Ádám, and Sándor Balázs Csernák.
The final took place across three different venues, where the participating teams could test their skills in a variety of exciting tasks. At one station, competitors were faced with a mathematical-logical worksheet that also covered the rules and history of darts, many of which may have already been familiar to them from the online rounds.
In the school assembly hall, the children worked with great enthusiasm on exciting calculation and combinatorics problems displayed on interactive whiteboards. Naturally, the program did not lack the practical side of darts either: in the gymnasium, the teams took part in a darts competition with the cooperation of Pál “Penge” Székely. During the breaks between competition tasks, the organizers treated the participants to lunch and various leisure activities. On the school playground, for instance, the children could also try out darts football.
The long day, filled with memorable experiences, concluded with an awards ceremony where every team received a gift. Although our team did not finish on the podium, following their preparation period, the students held their own worthily in the national final.
