On the morning of Thursday, April 1, Kaposvár Group 1 went to the cinema to see the animated film “Agyugrász” (Hoppets). The film’s premise is quite unique and surprising.
According to the story, a small team of scientists creates a robotic animal into which human consciousness can be implanted. This allows humans to understand animal speech and even communicate with them. Naturally, this leads to very humorous situations as the human and animal characters find themselves in all sorts of wacky predicaments. At the same time, the film carries a serious message, raising questions about how environmental values are destroyed for the sake of human interests and what happens when nature strikes back.
“I really liked the idea of being able to talk to animals with the help of a machine; I’d love to try it myself, as I’m sure I’d hear a few interesting things. I also appreciated how they drew attention to the amount of destruction humans can cause to nature when it suits their interests. This was presented by telling the story of a small community—the protagonist didn’t try to save the entire world, but ‘only’ a small lake and its ecosystem. This made it much easier for me to relate to the situation, and I found myself wondering: how would I behave in a situation like that?”-Kíra Kecskés, Kaposvár Group 1
