We received the opportunity from the Foundation to cheer for the Hungarian national team at the Puskás Aréna once again. This time it was a friendly match, and although the team was unfortunately not preparing for the World Cup, they still gave it their all in the last Budapest match before the summer break. Speculations were already flying before the game about what kind of match awaited us, and fortunately, the first half proved that the national team takes even a friendly match seriously, especially on home turf. Barnabás Varga managed to score a brace in the first half, and his second goal was an absolute stunner, but of course, the stadium erupted for both of his strikes. In the second half, we pulled back a bit; the Hungarian crowd said goodbye to Péter Szappanos, who was playing his final international match. Áron Yaakobishvili, who came on to replace him and was developed at Barcelona, conceded one goal, but thanks in part to his 3 big saves, we managed to win the match in the end.
It is always a huge experience to live through this atmosphere in person, to see the Hungarian team play, and to cheer from the stands with our friends. Thank you once again for the opportunity!
