Foreign Language Camp Bournemouth

We set off for this year’s English language camp with great excitement, as for many of us, this was the first flight of our lives. The initial anxiety was then quickly replaced by curiosity, and after our safe arrival, we already headed towards Bournemouth.

At the language school, we settled in, and then got to know the host families with whom we will spend the next week. Although at first it seemed like a big challenge to have to communicate constantly in English at the accommodation as well, we quickly realized that this is a great opportunity to use the language more boldly in everyday life.

Our first full day already held plenty of experiences. In the morning, we took part in a sandcastle-building competition on the beach, then we walked the streets of Southbourne and got to know the area. Naturally, the English language classes could not be missed either. In the morning for the older ones, and in the afternoon for the younger ones, the language development began in the classrooms of the Southbourne School of English.

During the week, we participated in several exciting programs. We visited the town of Christchurch, where we learned about the history and atmosphere of the area, and then we also explored the town of Poole. In Bournemouth’s Oceanarium, we could observe the unique inhabitants of marine wildlife up close, which was one of the most memorable programs of the week for many of us.

During the week, we took part in English language classes every day, where we gained a lot of new knowledge, developed our communication skills, and dared to speak English with more and more confidence. The excursions, the time spent with the host families, and the joint programs all contributed to applying what we learned in practice. We are returning home enriched with countless experiences, new friendships, and valuable lessons. We are deeply grateful to the Csányi Foundation for once again providing us with the opportunity for this special journey. We are sure that we will look back on the week spent in Bournemouth with joy for a long time to come.
