The second Saturday of September was very eventful at the Szentes Community House. Instead of the usual afternoon chatter of children and studying, all the rooms of the building were filled with parents, younger siblings, and older siblings. In the yard, beef stew was simmering in a cauldron for lunch; in the kitchen, mothers were bustling about; and the older children were downstairs playing darts, foosball, cards, and board games while sharing their summer experiences with one another.
In the main hall, following a parent-teacher meeting, László Lucza, an IT and mathematics development teacher, gave us parents a very exciting presentation on AI—or rather, an interactive, conversational morning. It was entertaining to see and respectfully contrast our viewpoints, gaining better insight into this inexhaustible and rapidly developing world. Meanwhile, we didn’t have to worry about the little ones; even our three-year-old, who is currently in their sticker phase, was engaged with immense love by the junior mentors, who played with them, watched cartoons, and looked after them so that we parents could relax a bit. Those who felt like it could craft and thread bead jewelry, or choose between glitter tattoos and henna painting. The abundance of fruit and the bite-sized pastries brought by the parents were a paradise for all the children… and we even celebrated a birthday!
Once again, we spent a wonderful day together and left with the familiar feeling of how great it is to belong to the “Csányi” community.
