The weekend was truly eventful for Pécs Group 2. After Friday’s drama class, our mentees, along with their siblings and parents, visited the bi-annual balcony concert, which has been a popular cultural event in the city for years.
At the concert, artists from the National Theatre of Pécs gifted the audience with a free performance, selecting from the season’s most popular pieces. The most well-known songs from Lady Carnaval, The Lovers of Ancona (Ankonai szerelmesek), and The Paul Street Boys (A Pál utcai fiúk) musical also resounded. The Foundation’s children enthusiastically joined in the singing and sang along with the actors.
The lineup of programs continued on Saturday as well. Following the ICT class, we organized a family afternoon, and then closed the day with a parent-teacher meeting. Our junior mentors prepared numerous games, and the yard was loud with the children’s laughter all afternoon. The parents happily joined the joint celebration, and we spent a cheerful, sunny day together.
The weekend showed once again how important a role shared experiences, time spent with families, and the power of community play. The moments experienced together meant lasting memories for all participants.
