Szabolcs Márk Turuczki
Sponsored Student with Exemplary Achievement in the Guidance Program
Szabi joined the then-starting Szeged 2 group in 2010. He was one of the most active members of the group. The Szeged Photography Club and Nature Explorer Club could not have been established without him.
In both 2020 and 2021, he won the research scholarship of the New National Excellence Program with his research related to building self-sustaining aquaponic systems. He has also been actively participating in the nature studies project realized through the support of Dr. Katalin Karikó.
In 2022, he won the Faculty Scientific Students’ Association Conference at the University of Szeged, and then in the spring of 2023, he received a special award at the National Scientific Students’ Association Conference for his research on fish nutrition.
In addition, Szabi is an excellent nature photographer: at the 2021 “Darvadozás” Photography Competition, he and several of his fellow Csányi peers achieved outstanding results, with Szabolcs taking both 1st and 3rd place with his pictures. His photo was also selected for the 2021 “365” photography publication.
Szabolcs first obtained a qualification as a forestry and wildlife management technician in 2019, and then graduated as an agricultural engineer from the University of Szeged in 2023.
Since 2022, he has been working as an agricultural engineer at TTM Bio Kft., where he is involved in production of fish feed and participates in research on oyster mushroom cultures. Over the years, he has developed a live-feed African catfish farm as a primary producer on their homestead. He still maintains an active relationship with his group and his mentor today, and his peers, as well as the Foundation’s staff, can count on him for anything.
