“On a rainy Tuesday afternoon, parents and children gathered at the Community House in Jászberény. We discussed current updates affecting the groups as well as individual challenges. Both parents and children from Groups J1 and J4 are becoming increasingly focused on further education and career choices. We had the opportunity to discuss these topics with Lilla Becsei, a career orientation specialist. Through specific examples and data, we examined what kind of degrees and qualifications are required for various professions and workplaces. We explored the employment prospects for young graduates after obtaining certain degrees and the salary levels they can expect. In certain fields, the prestige of the university matters significantly; several of us showed particular interest in engineering, law, and economics programs. Beyond the bachelor’s degree, we looked at how and where the children can continue their professional development. Many students work alongside their studies—not only for the income but because gaining practical experience by the time they graduate is essential, as professional experience is now a requirement at almost every workplace. We also learned about the advantages of dual education programs. All our questions were answered, and we can now navigate the world of universities and majors with much greater ease.
