On July 27, the nature photography camp in Baks kicked off. The campers selected through the workshops arrived from four different parts of the country to pursue their shared interest together. Our minibus departed from Nagybajom at 09:30, while the children from Jászberény, Szeged, and Szentes also set off in the morning hours. Following a quick cold lunch, we headed straight for the Körtvélyes Oxbow Lake, where part of the small community chose bird photography, while another group got to immerse themselves in the mysteries of macro photography. As a result of the former activity, night herons, egrets, and herons were captured on lens, while the latter led to photos of mushrooms, plant stamens, and insects of various sizes. We ended the day with gyros in Szentes and relaxing in a salt hot tub. We need to get a good rest, because after sleeping, we will need to create beautiful photos on the banks of the Maros, at the Dong-ér, and during the evening star photography, so that we can present them to the others at the all-arts camp.

We started the second day of the nature photography camp in Baks in the riverbed of the Maros River. Here, there was an opportunity for fishing, as well as exploring the bird and macro life of the area. Everyone found the activity most interesting to them. In the afternoon, we returned to the accommodation, where, alongside charging batteries, we could cool off in the pool. Later, we also mapped out the landscapes of the Dong-ér stream near the accommodation. After dark, we were also able to try our hand at astrophotography. We concluded the day with a lot of great photos and are excitedly looking forward to tomorrow’s nature trek.

We began the third day of the photography camp in Baks at Mártély, where everyone had the opportunity to row into the oxbow lake by punt and photograph the birds from the water. After a hearty lunch, time was spent at the beach. Then, in the afternoon, the team split into two groups based on interest: those interested in fishing remained on the shore with fishing rods, while the other half of the team explored the flora of the Mártély nature trail. We closed the afternoon with ice cream and then headed back to the accommodation. We have another long and experience-rich day behind us, and we are embarking on the last full day of the camp with great enthusiasm.

On the last day of our Photography Camp, we visited the Atka Oxbow Lake, where we worked in three groups: some tried to capture birds on camera from the piers, while others took macro photos of the surrounding plant and insect life along the Atka shoreline. At the end of the day, fishing naturally couldn’t be missed either. We were able to experience a beautiful sunset over the oxbow lake this evening, followed, to our greatest surprise, by a very spectacular full moon rise. Thus, we closed our camp with these wonders this year.
