The weekend of March 14, 2026, was a busy one for Kaposvár Group 3. It was the first Saturday of the month that we spent together, and we had a lot on our agenda. We started with a short discussion and commemoration in honor of our upcoming national holiday, during which we reviewed the major events and significance of the 1848–1849 Revolution and War of Independence.
Next, the 6th-grade group underwent an assessment of their narrative skills using a set of tasks developed by the ELTE research team. During the assessment, the children’s story-creation and story-comprehension skills, logical thinking, vocabulary richness, and recognition of emotional states were observed. The children approached the tasks with motivation and curiosity, striving to perform to the best of their ability. The tests were administered by Angéla Vancsuráné Sárközi, a mentor from Kaposvár, and Eszter Sárközi, a recipient of support from the Csányi Foundation and a psychology student at Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church in Hungary.
While the narrative tests were being completed, the rest of the group enthusiastically prepared for the Life Path Festival and worked in small groups on the “Responsibility for Nature” project. In the afternoon, we found time for a little gardening in the community center’s courtyard, and taking advantage of the beautiful spring weather, we got in some exercise to get ready for next week’s Csányi soccer tournament in Kaposvár.
