Carnival in Pécs

Carnival fever was brought to Pécs

Carnival fever was brought to the Community House of Pécs on January 28th by Danilo, who works for the Csányi Foundation as a volunteer.  He shared his knowledge of his country in a project. The students were eager to learn and know bits and pieces about Brazil. They learnt that the Carnival was brought to Brazil by colonists and is now a spectacular, widely celebrated holiday. Moreover, in Rio de Janeiro, for the four days before Ash Wednesday, tens of thousands of people gather to celebrate the Carnival with huge parades, live music and Samba dancing.
During the day, students in small groups had the chance to get acquainted with traditions related to the Carnival. They read texts in English and German and solved interesting tasks connected with the topic.
