Between September 4 and 5, we held the team-building weekend of the Csányi Foundation’s Children’s Parliament, in which all of the Foundation’s community houses were represented. The primary goal of the program was to allow the representatives not only to meet at official sessions, but also to build relationships in an informal environment.
Participants were welcomed by Hotel Carpe Diem, located in a beautiful environment near the Plázs Strand in Siófok. After checking into their rooms, everyone put on swimwear, and the team set off for the beach. The afternoon was made memorable by bathing together, where, along with the junior mentors, we could enjoy the still pleasant temperature of Lake Balaton’s water. Alongside the time at the beach, there was no shortage of excitement: we rode the Ferris wheel and tried out the bumper cars as well. To close the day, we watched the movie The Odyssey together at Sió Cinema, which adapts Homer’s classic epic with a star-studded cast.
On the second day, the weather unfortunately did not favor beach activities, so the organizers prepared an alternative program. The team visited the Bella Animal Park, where we could get to know numerous animal species up close. Afterwards, we headed towards the Siófok harbor, admiring the rose garden and the swans resting on the shore of Lake Balaton along the way.
One of the most special experiences of the day was the boat cruise. The boat took participants to the middle of Lake Balaton, from where a stunning panorama opened up before us. The cruise provided a lasting memory for everyone, as we got to experience the beauty of the lake from a truly unique perspective.
At the end of these two eventful and rich days, it was time to say goodbye. Participants were able to return home with new friendships, strengthened connections, and many shared memories. We would like to thank the Csányi Foundation for the opportunity and Hotel Carpe Diem for their warm hospitality, both of which contributed to making this team-building weekend truly memorable for all participants.

The shared beach time, the fast-paced bumper cars, and the movie night set a great mood on the very first day. On Saturday, during the walk in the animal park, plenty of selfies were taken, and the boat cruise on Lake Balaton provided an ideal backdrop for casual conversations and for discussing the tasks of the upcoming school year. Friendships became even closer during the team building, so we will all fondly look back on this weekend in Siófok for a long time.”
