This weekend, we welcomed the trainers of the OTP Fáy Foundation to the Nagybajom Community House. On the occasion of our Parents’ Academy event series, the parents and high school students of the Community House participated in an interactive session on presentation techniques. Vanda and Viktor guided the participants through the three-and-a-half-hour session with their well-prepared curriculum and humor. At the beginning of the morning, participants became acquainted with the characteristics related to giving presentations. They had to recognize their strengths and weaknesses, such as body language, rushing their speech, focus, eye contact, and so on. This was followed by a dialogue-based game, and after watching two videos demonstrating different presentation styles, the parents and students formed teams. They had to find a common topic, for which they had to create a poster and an outline. Once they were finished, everyone had to present their work to one another. One group covered the topic of a healthy lifestyle, another dealt with mental health, the next group presented the use of social media, and the fourth group gave a presentation about the Csányi Foundation. They paid close attention to one another, and at the end, they evaluated themselves and each other. They discussed what difficulties individuals might have faced and in which areas they could improve in the future.
Parents and children were able to learn useful, hands-on, and practical techniques during the day, which was spent in a playful and cheerful atmosphere. We thank the OTP Fáy Foundation for their cooperation!
