Blood donation
Volunteering and helping others is a priority at the Community House in Jasice, so we have organised a blood donation for the morning of 15 November. We were excited to see the blood donation car, as this was the first time such a donation had been made at this location. A Red Cross staff member explained how the rooms were set up and what they needed to run the event. Already in the first hour there was a queue waiting in the corridor and we were delighted to see how many well-meaning people there were in our area. Of course, the mentors also gave their blood on the day, as well as some of the children and parents who participated. In addition, we could count on our most enthusiastic volunteer – Katalin Fülöpné Paksi – who invited and encouraged the OTP staff to donate blood. It was a success that 30 people gave blood in three hours. We therefore agreed to host the donation again early next year. Hábencziusné Balla Andrea mentor
“Today, I summoned all my courage and went on the first blood donation of my life. I was very excited about this day, as it has been a dream of mine for a long time to become a blood donor. Unfortunately, it will remain a dream for a little while longer, as I was not able to donate blood, since some current issues. For me it was amazing and wonderful to see how many people in our small town are willing to help. I was very happy for the opportunity and will try again whenever I have the chance.” Nikolett Juhász-Aba Jászság Group 2
