Swim Camp in Kaposvár
“The summer break has begun and with it the swimming camp for Kaposvár Group 1. The team learnt the basics of different swimming styles in the Virágfürdő in Kaposvár, so everyone learned the ins and outs of backstroke, breaststroke and speed swimming, from beautifully executed arm movements to correct breathing.
The National Swimming Championships were taking place in Kaposvár during the swimming camp, so the pools were full of young swimmers, who tirelessly pushed the lengths and inspired the Kaposvár swimmers with their perseverance. The swimming lessons were led by Attila Kovács, an experienced instructor. The children came to the camp with varying levels of swimming ability, but by the end of the five days everyone was confident in the water. First in the learning pool and then in the 25-metre pool, the youngsters took to the water and all of them improved a lot.
As the swimming pool complex also has a huge beach, we took advantage of the opportunity to spend Monday and Thursday afternoons here, swimming and sliding. On Tuesday afternoon we watched the animated film Elemi together in the Kaposvár cinema. On Wednesday and Friday afternoons, we could paint, make bracelets and dream catchers, play board games and have great conversations.

“I was a bit unsure of myself, I couldn’t swim very well at the beginning of the week. But with the help of my swimming instructor Attila, I feel quite comfortable in the water now and I can swim longer distances. It was hard to get up every morning and come swimming, and I was really tired by the end of the week, but it was worth it. I really liked the adventure pool, we swam most of the afternoon, although our mentor sent us into the shade several times because it was so hot. The crafts were good too, I made some really cool bracelets. ”
