“Grow it yourself-do it yourself!” sandwiches
On their project day in February, group 1 started mushroom growing. The “fruit” of our labour has now been harvested, i.e. the first batch of hat stock was picked for use. To quickly create something tasty to eat between two sessions, the idea of making a hot mushroom sandwich cream was obvious. The mushrooms we picked were thoroughly washed and chopped. We chopped onions, sautéed them in olive oil and mixed them with butter. We added the chopped mushrooms and mixed in garlic, pepper, nutmeg and parsley. After a thorough simmering, we mashed it with a stick blender and then spread it on bread when it cooled. Sprinkled with grated cheese and baked until crispy and red. And most importantly, we ate our own healthy food with good appetite. -Sándor Kovács, mentor, Szentes Group 1
