Winter Banishment in Nagybajom
“We spent our weekend development workshop in a unique way, immersed in a carnival atmosphere. Organized by the Nagybajom 1st and 2nd groups, we held a carnival-themed project day. A poster was made to announce this day, inviting everyone at our Community Center to participate, dressed up in carnival attire. The competition took place like a rotating stage, at multiple locations. Our volunteer, Ádám Balogh, prepared a puzzle, while Dénesné Szak Andrea, our German and Hungarian development teacher, led a storytelling digital puzzle station. At the craft corner, participants could make carnival glasses. Bogi Szalai and Rebeka Völfinger hosted an English language game for the younger ones, followed by a KAHOOT quiz on carnival and movies/fairy tales topics, conducted by Vanessza Kovács for all participants.
While teams were engaged in these activities, our volunteers, Lili Vinczné Balhási and Tündi Horváthné Varga, made delicious donuts, including ribbon and twist varieties. Following the costume presentation, the tradition of the Donut Eating Contest continued, where the fastest donut eater champion was revealed as Zalán Győző. Our project related to festive occasions provided another opportunity to maintain and further strengthen our community.

Throughout the day, viewers of this article can watch short films made from the videos of Zsombor Kislaki and Roland Pfeffer. I believe we successfully banished winter!” – Milán Vajda, Nagybajom 2nd group
