Kids from Szentes and the mummies
“The participants of the archaeology-history-painting session of the groups from Szentes had an exciting adventure into the past in Békéscsaba. We visited the exhibition “Mysteries, fates, mummies” in the Munkácsy Mihály Museum and the children took part in an extraordinary activity. Among the mummies of Vác, which were found by chance a few years ago, they could solve very complex puzzles, the keys to which were hidden behind each coffin, but to solve them they had to know all the information about the life of the deceased. The small team, which solved the tasks with great skill, was also praised by the staff of the institution for its thoroughness, speed and commendable performance. After the session, the children were also given an insight into the various scientific methods used by the researchers to study this extraordinary collection of finds. After our adventure was over, we had time to visit the permanent archaeological exhibition with its rich artefacts. Returning home with an extraordinary experience, once again enriched with a lot of knowledge, the children were happy to report about their special adventure.” Sándor Kovács, mentor
