Flying on wings
The opening of Anikó Nagy’s exhibition entitled Dizzy on Wings took place today in the Déryné 6 Gallery of the Jászság Community House.
Anikó Nagy is an amateur artist from Jászberény, whose works are the result of her evening studio time. The activity is set in a difficult life situation, which is difficult to talk about. The drawings, however, make a statement: about fear, thoughts of death, cancer, grief, and the beauty of life. The joy of the family, the impressions of small moments and the beauty of nature and wildlife replace the more sombre images, testifying to the way art makes its way in times of crisis, encouraging people to work through their problems, to draw them out and to spur them on to struggle and to live.
After the welcome speech of Dr. Miklós Radoszáv, the Foundation’s operational director, Zsolt Árva and Anikó Nagy accompanied Zsigmond Kovács’ improvised song with guitar. Afterwards, Boglárka Kohári-Nagy described her mother’s creative work and gave us a touching insight into their close relationship and life.
Anikó Nagy draws inspiration from her studies of Caravaggio and Goya, and uses the contrast between dark and light, light and shadow in her graphics in a dramatic way.
The opening was extremely well attended and the exhibition attracted a large number of visitors. The words of appreciation and the beautiful bouquets of flowers made it clear that Aniko had captivated the audience with her work and her personality.
Once again, congratulations to Aniko Nagy and thank you to all the contributors for their help!
