Ryan Occeña is spending a year in Hungary to master his conducting skills in the world famous Kodály Institute in Kecskemét. At the weekend he came to Nagybajom to talk about his experiences and his homeland.
Firstly, students and Ryan introduced themselves to each other. The young musician coming from Missouri, USA showed great interest in the life of the foundation and the students. He spoke approvingly of Hungarian music education and musical traditions. In the second part of his presentation he explained the development of American popular music and thought some American songs to the children. The visit was an excellent opportunity for children to expand their knowledge and to practice English. We hope to welcome such interesting people in the near future.
