The recipe for a pleasant Sunday
“What is the recipe for a pleasant Sunday afternoon? Maybe a little music, a good story, a sophisticated venue… well, all of this was together at the Csiky Gergely Theatre in Kaposvár on 19 November. The list was completed with excellent acting, humour and good company. So there was nothing to stop us from having a really great time together at the musical comedy “The Poachers of the Riviera”. The play, of course, led the audience into a dense web of misunderstandings, loves and deceptions, with lots of music, dancing and very spectacular scenery. Everything rose and fell, and the actors jumped with acrobatic dexterity on the set elements. Excellent musicians provided live accompaniment to the songs and dancers. After the performance, we had the opportunity to meet one of the main characters, Csaba Hüse, who stayed in costume for a photo. We asked him what it was like to sing to live music, what he considered to be an acting task, and we also asked him how demanding it was for an (otherwise outstanding) prose actor. He said that he was delighted to be involved in the musical and, yes, it is a big challenge for all of them. He was happy that many of us go to the theatre, and we were happy to watch such a great performance with such an excellent actor, courtesy of the Csányi Foundation, with parents, brothers and sisters, friends.”
