Project Showcase for Families
To mark the conclusion of the first unit of our Maker’s Red Box – City of the Future project in Szeged, we held a showcase event for parents, during which our supported students presented their results, experiences, and insights so far.
Through hands-on, creative learning embedded in a historical narrative, participants became co-creators of future cities. The group-based, interdisciplinary project tasks helped develop social skills and the ability to apply knowledge in a complex, integrated way. One of our primary goals was also fully achieved: the personal development of each participant through self-reflection and skill growth.
In line with the needs of the future job market, our group members gained diverse knowledge in areas such as 3D design and object creation, design thinking, peer learning, the complex application of technologies, microelectronics, and the understanding of specific responsibilities within a team.
A large number of family members attended the showcase and had the chance to engage interactively with various tools and technologies—including software platforms, a 3D printer, laser cutter, micro:bit devices, and more. Each student presented their area of responsibility, outlined a future scenario related to their topic, and in some cases, detailed upcoming technological advancements and their own personal visions.
Looking ahead, we plan to expand our knowledge with future modules centered on the conscious use of artificial intelligence—placing a strong emphasis on future-proof skills, critical thinking, and ethical, responsible technology use. We also aim to continue developing our ideas through smart control system design and other inspiring group activities during upcoming project weekends.
