Learning to programme
“In 2023, interested Foundation students had the opportunity to learn programming by taking part in Alphacademy courses. The Csányi Foundation and Alphacademy started their cooperation in 2023, and the first semester has been a success. Initially, eight primary and secondary school children joined the course, but now nine are continuing their studies. The training is partly online: in regular sessions, they learn more and more complex tasks and algorithms with the help of a specialist. Until the next session, they work on their own, using their newly acquired knowledge to solve a problem of similar difficulty or write a program. The process can only be successful if the children regularly do their homework and practice on their own, as practice is essential for the embedding and routine of this knowledge.” Sándor Kovács, mentor
“I have been attending Alphacademy classes for six months and so far my experience has been overwhelmingly positive. In the classes we learn mostly programming, in C++ programming language. There is a strong emphasis on using each other’s skills and talents to reach a certain level. Perhaps what I like the most is that their instructors use modern pedagogical elements and understand the language of our age group and those younger than us, which I think is the basis for a mutually successful teacher-student relationship. If you are interested in mathematics or computer science, I can recommend it, because the future is very much linked to these disciplines and if you have talent and enjoy them, you can only benefit.” Márkó Laurinyecz, Szeged Group 3
“I’ve been taking the C++ Fundamentals course for more than half a year now, where we learn programming. Everything is explained very clearly and we also get homework to improve ourselves. If you are interested in computer science, I think it is easy to learn. I think that the programming knowledge we have acquired will be of great value in the future, especially for those who are planning to study this kind of subject. Thank you for the opportunity!” Bozó Kata, Szentes Group 1
“The course is excellent. The interactive courses and well structured curriculum helped me to learn programming skills effectively. The instructors are helpful and convey their knowledge in a way that is understandable for everyone.” Gergő Nemoda, Szeged Group 2
