(Mrs) Piroska Szabóné André

I graduated as a mathematics and physics teacher from the Juhász Gyula Teacher Training College in Szeged. Later I received a Masters degree in Mathematics from József Attila University. I also have a post-secondary qualification in IT and system programming, and I have taken part in the following trainings: How to Teach Learning Methodology, The Basics of Measurements in Public Education, and Talent Nurturing School in the Practice of Public Education.

After receiving my first degree I started working as a resident teacher at the Cseresnyés boarding facility in Vásárhely. This boarding facility was established over 70 years ago to serve as a home for students from the farmlands, to provide the talented children of marginalised families with an opportunity to study. The Arany János Talent Fostering Boarding Facility Programme (AJKP), launched in 2005, fit well into this concept, as it also supported highly socially disadvantaged students so that they could finish secondary school. From the very first moment I coordinated the programme, and in 2 years the AJKP Programme in Vásárhely was among the most successful in the country.

Besides working as a resident teacher, I taught mathematics at the Németh László Elementary School and Secondary Grammar School in Vásárhely, and I also worked at a renowned grant application writing firm in Szeged. I gained experience as a mentor and patron at the AJKP and the Útravaló Programme as well.

It is a pleasure that I was able to join the team at the Csányi Foundation in the spring of 2010. Here I strive to make the most of the knowledge I have gained, as the aim with which the foundation was established is consistent with the work I have been doing in the field of education. I’m the enthusiastic mentor of the 1st group in Szeged.I graduated as a mathematics and physics teacher from the Juhász Gyula Teacher Training College in Szeged.
