Parents’ Forum in Nagybajom
We participated in a Parents’ Advocacy Forum at the Nagybajom Community House, with representatives from the parent community from all three groups. One of the main topics of the discussion was the importance of parental responsibility for the foundation’s programs, including ways and necessary roles for organizing and running programs that bring life and activity to the Community Houses. We discussed specific tasks in which the parent community could be involved, such as assisting with the organization and execution of Family Day. A shared conclusion was that as a “best practice,” an active parent who has been involved in the program for years could initiate a conversation with newly joining parents, discussing activity expectations and responsibilities. The points raised in the forum will be reviewed by the participating parents at the upcoming Annual Advocacy Forum with the parent representatives and mentors of the Foundation’s Community Houses.
