Trip to Ópusztaszer
This day, group 1 of Szeged visited the National Memorial Park in Ópusztaszer
The 8th Arrow Shower and Archery Day was organised this day. Due to this event a lot of archers gathered in Hungarian conquest period dress. Marci tried one of these costumes. After watching the Feszty panoramic round painting, the Promenade exhibition and the wax museum we saw an awesome horse parade.
In the park a big fair took place and we had the chance to see old times’ craftsmanship at many different spots of the park. It was interesting to try old toys like mechanical puzzles, hand gyroscope, trompo, skipping-rope and yo-yo. The best of all were the stilts.
We had dinner at Szeri Csárda where we could see the photos and paintings of famous Outlaws.
During the afternoon, we could see hundreds of tradition keepers bringing back the events of the battle of Pozsony in 907 and around 2000 arrows were shot at the same time commemorating those who fought in the battle. This is the biggest shooting event in the world.
The group was happy to spend a day together.
