Volunteering at the World Chess Festival

Volunteering at the World Chess Festival

This was our first time volunteering at the Chess Festival, and we all came away with unforgettable experiences. Our main task was to assist in organizing programs for children, where we helped explain the rules and coordinate the games. One of the biggest successes was the blitz chess event, led by Orsolya Varga and Márk Szűcs, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for the little ones.

Others, including András Oláh, took on more administrative roles, aiding in the seamless execution of the event. We encountered special situations, including assisting visitors in foreign languages, which provided new challenges and experiences.

Overall, the day was filled with a fantastic atmosphere. It brought us great joy to be part of this community event, from which we learned a lot. Through collaboration and teamwork, we created truly unforgettable moments.

Like in previous years, we had the opportunity to help with the organization of the World Chess Festival. Once again, the beautiful Hungarian National Gallery hosted the event. We can say that this day is dear to everyone, as we assist those who gather here for the same purpose: a passion for chess. Visitors travel from various countries to be part of this high-quality festival and explore the world of chess together.

Throughout the day, we were able to provide assistance at various stations while putting our language skills to use. Some of us had the honor of accompanying the Polgar family. It was an exciting and bustling day for us, as well as a lasting memory. Volunteers were needed at the stage, the Chess Challenge competition, the VIP entrance, and at the entrances. We can be proud that we, too, were an important part of this day through the Csányi Foundation, and we hope this tradition continues!
