ECDL camp
The summer holidays of the Jászság 4 group are really busy, as this year the children can participate in four camps thanks to the Csányi Foundation. This week’s ECDL camp is the third in a series, which is a new for us, as it is the first of its kind. The main aim is to prepare for the Module 3 exam, but there is also enough time for fun. On Monday afternoon we started testing a new set of exercises for the OkosDoboz online platform. The OkosDoboz is a textbook-independent digital learning tool that uses graphic exercises, thinking games and short instructional videos to help students (aged 6-18) learn, practice and develop thinking skills in school subjects. However, the new series of tasks focuses on emotional intelligence. As we had already done a lot of work on this topic, we were happy to prepare the exercises and, after watching the related videos, we talked for more than an hour, getting to know each other’s feelings, thoughts, fears and joys. We talked openly and honestly.
“After lunch, we took part in an emotion-based test. We assessed our own emotional intelligence by solving different tasks. We managed to complete it with some difficulty. There was a task that involved pairing a picture with an emotional concept. It wasn’t easy as the pictures were very similar. I personally found the tasks interesting and straightforward. We will definitely do more in the future, so I hope they will be just as exciting.” Fruzsina Simon Ramóna, J4
On Tuesday, after the ECDL classes, we relaxed with a creative activity with our volunteer Hábencius Hanna, with whom we made “pebbles” from air-drying clay, which we will paint after drying. Meanwhile, the boys played football on the field nearby, and didn’t leave the ping-pong and foosball table in the Community Centre to gather dust. Afterwards, we continued with our OkosDoboz tasks and worked in our bio garden.
“The topic of the morning IT lesson is using word. Usually we were given a raw text, which we had to formulate based on a sample, and Uncle Lajos assessed this. We are all excited about the upcoming exam, which is in September. We would like to thank the developer Zeke Lajos for his preparation.” Domján Letícia, J4
On Wednesday afternoon, we created a real cinema atmosphere when we took over the Sára Sándor room of the neighbouring Lehel Film Theatre, equipped with lots and lots of snacks. Among the cool walls, wchich was really nice in the summer heat, we watched a really exciting live-action film, the story of Cruella. Afterwards, we continued painting the finished clay pots, which brought us a cavalcade of colours. At the end of the day, we cleaned the inside of the car and then went to a car wash.
“Andi néni had promised us a long time ago that we could accompany her to the car wash one day and now that day has come. We really enjoyed it! First we vacuumed the car and wiped the doors inside, then we went to the electric car wash. It was very exciting to sit in it during the process.”☺️ Sas Maja Anna, J4
“On the last day of the camp, the group visited Visegrád, where we were greeted by a guide who told us about the history of the Citadel. He also told us about other nations and how the kings of different countries influenced the history at that time. He also told us about the various internal conflicts and their consequences. Afterwards we went bobbing, where everyone had a good time. After lunch, we visited Szentendre, where we saw the city and took a walk along the banks of the Danube, and the bravest of us even took a dip in the cool water. This was the end of an enjoyable day full of experiences.” Tétény Madarasi, Jászság 2
