Oral Language Exam in Szeged
On Nov 28-29 2024 were held the oral exams of the Foundation’s English Language Competition. Despite the students’ being nervous prior and at the beginning of the exam, eventually all of them performed very well. Having arrived fully prepared, their reports were of high quality, on all levels (B1, B2 and C1, in line with the CEFR levels). Few learners had minor problems concerning the tasks, however, I firmly believe these exams are perfect opportunities for them to practice and thus gain experience. This way they will perform better both at their language exam and in real life. What is more, not only for the students was this a valuable experience, but for me as well since as an English trainee teacher I also need to gain experiences like this.

Jászberény:
In recent days, excitement was a central element in the Jászberény Community Hall, as the first oral round of the language competition took place. With the help of 9 language groups, 4 development teachers and 7 mentors, the oral round of the competition was held in 4 days.
For the 6th grade students of the Jászság group 2, this was their first foreign language test, they had to express themselves orally in the framework of the language competition for the first time. The youngest group of the Community House was very excited. With my successful B1 language exam, I was able to sit on the other side of the table, next to Uncle András, during the language competition of the small group, and I was able to help in the administration of the exam. After that, I reassessed how much the foundation’s development classes add to my foreign language learning, and how good it feels to give back to the Foundation’s work in this form as a small mentor. The oral round of the language competition is already used to me and my group mates, but we are also a little nervous, as we want to achieve the best possible result during the round.
We would also like to thank the Foundation and our language development teachers, thanks to whom our knowledge can continuously improve. (Lili Boglárka Burkus, Jászság group 4)
