Mohács 500 Project
On February 22 we continued the Mohács 500 project. At the beginning of the day, Andor Kern gave a lecture on the events of the battle, allowing even the younger members of the Mohács 3 group to engage with the topic.
We, university students, gave a presentation on the course of the battle and the weaponry of the time. We introduced the children to the weapons used by both Hungarian and Turkish soldiers. Later, Kata Környei and Maja Sik prepared playful tasks for the younger students to solve in groups. After a short break, Milán Möller gave a summary of the Battle of Mohács. Finally, the children completed a quiz to test their knowledge.
After the activities, the children were eager to go outside to play, despite the cold weather. They played table tennis and football, while others participated in crafts, and some worked on their submission for the “I Am Who I Am” competition. We ended the day with a delicious lunch, kindly prepared by Dávid Horváth, the new mentor of the Mohács 2 group
