Hungary – Czech Republic friendly match: 1-1
“The difficulties of starting the school year were eased by a great programme. On 10 September, the Hungarian national team hosted the Czech Republic in a pre-season football match at the Puskás Ferenc Stadium. The stadium was almost sold out, which was a big factor in the atmosphere. The Hungarian team played in good spirits and with determination. After the national anthems, everyone clapped respectfully and then the starting whistle blew. It was an evenly matched match, with the home team dominating with their creative attacking play, often forcing the visitors to defend and counter-attack. Both goals came from just such a give-and-go. The whole stadium exploded at Sallai’s goal-bound strike. On the pitch, unfortunately, tempers flared from the first minute, with violent entries, annoyed shouts and the former rewarded with yellow cards. The match, which was full of bravura, ended in a draw between the two teams. Thank you for the opportunity to be part of a confident Hungarian team!” Márton Gelencsér, Nagybajom Group 1
