Lisa Romain in Pécs
Today (15th November) we had a great opportunity to meet a scholarship student who came from the USA. She traveled to Hungary with the Fulbright Scholarship program.
Lisa Roman who is a violin artist coming from New York has held a presentation to our group. We had a chance to listen to someone from another continent describing how she feels about our folk music. Lisa played several smaller parts on her violin and showed us the main difference between our nations’ way of playing. In a small introduction part we were told that she has been playing the violin since she was 4, as well as a few interesting stories about her studies and travels. It was a really great experience even for people who are not that into classical music. I think we have all enjoyed the lesson due to that we were talking freely and everyone was able to comment on the topic. Beside music we were talking about general things such as living in the USA and in Hungary. It was nice to hear her opinion on Hungarian people and their mentality.
After our lesson we invited her to join us in our lunch. Unfortunately after we had a great chat she had to leave. Thank you Lisa, it was great to know you!
