Summertime at the Community Centre
Several of us met at the Community Centre this week, where there is now a bit of chaos because of the painting. It was not so hot in the morning so we started the day in the courtyard. The tomatoes in our raised bed are ripening steadily and the aubergines are turning purple, but still very small. We picked the leaves from the roses, tried to pull out the weeds and watered the plants, but the real work was inside. We started by packing up the kitchen and dining room, while discussing our summer. As it turned out, there were several of us at our grandmothers’ or other relatives’ houses this time of year. Some of us go to the beach with friends sometimes, but several of us from the group meet up during the holidays and visit each other. Sunday is the start of the Arts and Crafts camp, I’m really looking forward to it.
