Kalandozás a Holt-Tisza partján
Today (2024.06.15.), we visited Mártély with my classmates, and Amber joined us on the adventure. The departure at 8:30 AM felt early, but we knew we were in for a good day. When we arrived in Mártély, we first had a picnic. There were many delicious snacks waiting for us, prepared by our mentor, Ms. Gyöngyi. Then we entertained ourselves: some played badminton, some chatted, but most of us started playing volleyball, which later turned into a soccer game.
Later, part of the group went hiking, where we gained a lot of new knowledge. We saw a few grey herons, night herons, and other water birds, which we admired, but we couldn’t identify them all. Our knowledge about mushrooms also expanded, as we found a special type of bracket fungus at the end of the nature trail. The trail crossed a watery marshland, with a boardwalk leading us through, surrounded by bulrush and reeds. The hike was good for our spirits. When we returned, we saw that the others were still playing soccer.
Unfortunately, we had to say goodbye to the enchanting scenery of the Dead Tisza, as lunch was waiting for us, and then we headed towards Szeged, where everyone went their separate ways.
We would like to thank Gyöngyi néni, Piroska néni, Amber, and our junior mentors: Bella, Gábor, and Gergő for this program.
