Skates up!
“We won 2nd place in the Colour Your World competition at the Spring Festival of Life with the performance “We are over fifty”. This performance showed that even after we are over fifty years old, the Foundation and our community will still be important in our lives. We used this prize on Sunday afternoon when we went together to the Ice Hall in Kaposvár. We put on skates and skated on the ice for two hours. Some of us who had never skated before, but bravely stepped onto the ice and, with the help of Uncle Andris, helped each other and by the end of the day, were sliding on the ice, leaving the skateboard behind. It was great to see how we helped and encouraged each other and it was evident in our performance that we could rely on each other. After skating we were sufficiently tired and hungry that we had dinner at a nearby restaurant. Before dinner, we also discussed restaurant etiquette. Thank you very much for this experience, we had a great afternoon together!” – Bianka Alett Kovács, Nagybajom Group 2
“For the first time in my life I had ice skating shoes on my feet. At the beginning I was almost pulling myself on the skates with my hands, but my peers helped me a lot, so by the end I was getting the hang of it. I feel like I’ll be back.” – Roland Pfeffer, Nagybajom Group 2
“I have come to the Ice Hall several times with the school for PE lessons, so I can say that I can skate steadily. I am glad that I could help my friends who had a harder time.” Boglárka Szalai, Nagybajom Group 2
