Bridges on the river Tisza
Today (16 January) the university students of the group szeged 1 held their activities and presentations for the 6th graders. They made a presentation about 4 different bridges located on river Tisza. They mentioned so many interesting facts about their structures, history or military importance. They prepared maths exercises connected to bridges. The kids solved it in groups of 3, with the help of the university students. Then they drew plans of the bridges which they later modeled with their own hands. “We continued our historical journey on the river. Last month we emphasized military history on the river, this time we chose the bridges, mixed with DIY skills. We prepared an interesting presentation, after which we gave the kids a set of maths problems. Of course we helped them if they needed, but they were hardly in need of any help. After they solved the maths problems, the groups of 3 began making plans on what type of bridge they want to build. That’s where their creativity showed off, as they began preparing their masterpieces. Me and my group modeled an already existing bridge on the river Tisza, in Szeged. I believe not only the group I worked with were amazing, but all the others did a fantastic job as well. They overcame all expectations. I think it’s safe to say that this day was a success as well”

The reason why I love when the university students are there is because they are really upbringing and they tell us so many interesting things. And also when I don’t know something they come and help me every time. Márk Török, Szeged 3
We kicked off this day with hungarian grammar assignments, then the plan was to build our bridges before which, we heard an amazing presentation, and of course we got some math problems to solve. Our bridge was not the best looking bridge of all, but I think what matters is that we had fun. Márkó Laurinyecz, Szeged 3
