Halloween and Birds
On October 29 at 10 a.m., all the younger members of Nagybajom’s Group 3 eagerly awaited the day’s events at the Community House. Our little team was divided into two groups. The boys worked with Mr. Roland and Róbert Glacz, a conservation ranger from the Duna-Dráva National Park, to build increasingly precise birdhouses. They sawed 30 cm and 15 cm pieces of pine and oak boards to assemble the perfect homes for these little creatures. We then nailed or screwed the parts together, so all that remained was to paint them. In total, we managed to build 18 birdhouses. Meanwhile, the girls made coconut balls and those feeling brave could get their faces painted. We were supported in this by Ms. Szilvi and the high school and university students from Nagybajom’s Group 1, and we’re very grateful for their help throughout the day.
Once everyone had finished their tasks, it was time for a quiz, with four teams competing. The questions were about Halloween, and the teams managed to answer with varying levels of success. In the end, the “Csajszibarackok” team emerged victorious—congratulations to them!
Later, singing and dancing began. We sang a few well-known songs together, a bit shyly at first, and some were even brave enough to dance. We ended the day with a movie screening, enjoying plenty of snacks and drinks. The menu included popcorn and gummy candy. For those not interested in the movie, there was FIFA to play, so everyone left with new memories from this fun-filled event.
