“Fruitful” project day in Szentes
We planned our project day on October 19 to be very busy with the 1st group. In our project, we return from time to time to the milestones of a healthy lifestyle, and that is what happened on this day as well. As a warm-up, we invigorated the bodies and spirits of the young people during the drama session, after which the preparation for the ICDL exam began. We will complete our next module exam by creating a presentation, so we have connected this with learning about fruits. After the theoretical half of the IT session, in the practical phase, the young people divided into small groups had to collect data and make presentations on four topics: Fruit growing on a large scale; Importance of fruits in nutrition; Vitamin content in the most popular fruits; The importance of vitamins for the human body. After the lunch break, the presentations followed, during which the attentive company could be enriched with useful information both in the field of industrial production and vitamins. In the rest of the afternoon, we went to buy the most popular, local fruit that can be picked directly from the tree, apples, for our community house. For this, we traveled to the plantation next to Fábiánsebestyén út and, with teamwork, we soon picked the amount we thought was sufficient. We unpacked our vitamin source in a cool, airy storage room in the community center, placed at a suitable distance from each other, which will not remain untouched for long. -Sándor Kovács mentor, group 1 Szentes
“For our project day in October, we hurried to the community house at 8 am. After everyone arrived, the drama class began. Here we played concentration games, and then with the help of our imaginations we traveled to an imaginary uninhabited island. We prepared for the ICDL module exam in the IT class, but we also dealt with the tasks of our project day. We prepared for apple picking, and to establish this, we made a presentation about the importance of vitamins and fruit growing, which we then shared with the other members of the group. In the afternoon, we went out to a free-picking garden, where we happily picked more than twenty-five kilos of apples, working as a team. The day was really important for us, because we were able to learn many new things about vitamins and gain many new experiences. Many people didn’t even know the place where we can pick the fruits of the apple trees ourselves.” -Vanda Horváth, Dávid Rickert, Fanni Lili Sebesi, members of group 1 Szentes
