Camp in Veszprém

Camp in Veszprém

Today (22nd June) we arrived in Veszprém where we will be staying until Saturday.

After taking up the rooms we visited the “Mackó” sweet-shop where we could taste home-made ice creams. Then we had a short walk in the city centre. After dinner the boys had a huge football match on the nearest football-ground.

The 2nd day (23rd June) – On the second day of the camp, one of the workers of Matchias Corvinus Collegium gave an exciting presentation about communicating on the internet and techniques of reasoning.

After lunch we started our way to Tapolca. The weather was rainy and we had to wait a lot at the entrance of the Lake Cave, but we were recompensed by the experience we got there. Before boating on the Lake we could get a lot of information from our guide about the Lake Cave and the formation of dripstone caves.

Thank to the 3D pictures and videos we understood it more easily. We also visited the Kinizsi Castle in Nagyvázsony. For me today the boating was the most exciting program.

The 3rd day (24th June) After breakfast we learned a bit then we listend to a lecture where one of our mate, called György-Dávid Valentin was introducng his university and the life in K9.

In the afternoon we visited Tihany and enjoyed the view from the shore of Lake Balaton.

We said fare-well to this wonderful day with an exciting bod-ride 🙂 It was fun pure!

The 4th day (25th June) This day was full of experiences, because we went on a trip to Badacsony. Then we also went on a riverboat trip.

In the evening, the chess competition has started and hopefully, we will get to know the details and the results tomorrow.

The 5th day (26th June) Today we woke up at half past 7 and had breakfast. Then we had lessons with Valentin and Mrs. Piroska. On Valentin’s lesson we did an interesting quiz, which was very exciting. On Mrs Piroska’s lesson we learned lots of things about the intelligence, for example that intelligent people stand by in new situations and sometimes we have to get out of our mind and be creative. After lunch we went to the zoo then later to the beach of the Lake Balaton where we swam and played beach soccer. Finally we returned to our accommodation, ate a good dinner and finished the chess championship. Our last night was spent together by playing pool and a group of kids went back to Balaton to take photos of the sunset. This camp was fun, thank you for every programme organised!  Lakatos Patrik and Vugernicsek Zsolt, Szeged 1. group

6th day (27th June) On the last day of the camp we travelled to Keszthely to visit the well-known Festetics Palace and the Coach Exhibition, which is a collection of more than 50 coaches, carriages and sleighs related to the aristocratic lifestyle of the 18th and 19th centuries. After visiting the museums we started our way to Szeged on the southern part of Lake Balaton. We stopped in Balatonfenyves to have lunch and to swim but because of the cloudy weather we couldn’t. Fortunately we were compensated by the view of Badacsony and the delicious lunch before the long journey.
