# Family Day in Szeged

“On Saturday, October 17, the Foundation organized a Family Day for the mentees and families of the three Szeged groups. We met at 10 o’clock at the Kisstadion, where everyone could play nine-pin bowling, ten-pin bowling, and football. The younger siblings gave nine-pin bowling a try, and it was a great joy whenever a pin was knocked down. In ten-pin bowling, there were mixed teams of parents and older and younger children together. The ‘competition,’ cheering, and laughter were in full swing. The boys played football on the outdoor pitch.

As a parent, it was wonderful to see how nicely the ‘little ones’ and the ‘older ones’ talked, played, and enjoyed themselves together. The parents present had a great time as well; those who weren’t playing enjoyed good conversations between rolls. At 12 o’clock, we went over to the Community House, where drama sessions were waiting for us. There was a separate session for the children and a separate one for us.

We had a fantastic time—at times we were physically active, and at other times we had to use our minds. We got to know each other and the children better; it was also a bit of a self-awareness training, but the atmosphere remained very pleasant throughout, filled with lots of laughter. We also got to know the ‘older kids’ better, rather than just passing them by. It was great to meet and talk with both them and the other parents. We hope there will be similar family days in the future.”

“In the morning, we met at the bowling alley in Újszeged. Everyone in the family, young and old alike, enjoyed the community activities. Everyone had fun, and the atmosphere was super! Not for a single moment were the ten-pin and nine-pin bowling lanes left unused—the balls were constantly rolling, while on the football pitch, the ball kept bouncing. At noon, we returned to the Community House, where we played team-building games with Bella, while upstairs the parents also took part in a pleasant drama session. Around 2 p.m., we had lunch accompanied by conversations sharing our experiences, and whoever felt like it could go down to the basement room where we played ball games—a lot of people took advantage of this opportunity. It was a day full of wonderful experiences!”
