Preparation for the Graduation Exam in Pécs
Demerácz Lili, member of Group 2 from Pécs, graduating this year. As part of this year’s sessions organized by the Foundation, we participated in a preparatory project for the graduation exam, where we gained professional knowledge, advice, practice, routine, and information about the task types of the new graduation system. We study math, Hungarian, and history, optionally at an advanced level. For me, the most useful were advanced math and history, as I consider these to be my weakest subjects. In math, we reviewed tasks involving trigonometry, logarithms, exponential equations, proofs, and number theory. The knowledge gained here gave me confidence to take the advanced level math exam, ensuring my admission to my dream university.
In history, our mentor with great experience and routine ensured our successful preparation by practicing essay tasks and showing methods for perfect composition. We covered many useful topics, refreshing old, unclear topics for many of us. For all three subjects, we received homework, including essays to be written at home, text composition tasks, and practice graduation exam sets. Solving these, group checking, and individual consultations with the subject teacher were very helpful in reducing my mistakes and refining my knowledge. I find the graduation project very useful, and I am grateful to the Foundation for the many helps in preparing for the graduation exam. – Demerácz Lili, Pécs Group 2
In the framework of our graduation project, we also embarked on preparation for the Hungarian graduation exam. Together, we reviewed the requirements, then practiced various types of tasks with Andi. We refreshed our cultural knowledge by reviewing characteristics of certain periods, their representatives, and also reviewed literary genres. In the last part of Saturday’s class, we started writing a literary analysis essay. The effectiveness of our preparation was enhanced by the fact that the whole group solved the tasks together – thus, everyone could demonstrate their knowledge and humor, making the session enjoyable. – Karl Mária, Pécs Group 2
