First iExpo of my life
“Now that I am a third-year student at the Faculty of Economics and Accounting of the University of Pécs, I have more practical and more specific subjects. In one of my courses, I was able to participate in a research project, where I was free to choose a topic.
At the beginning, I did not think that the topic of the research would be so decisive, so I thought of something that I simply liked and that would be a pleasure to do, and so I chose the topic “The distribution of horror films among 14-70 year olds”. I created a questionnaire which I posted on various social media platforms and from the responses I received I created a sample of over 150 items, from which I was able to draw accurate results, as I had learned from statistics, and thus clear conclusions.
Among other things, I was able to determine what circumstances, characters and events are necessary for a horror film producer to maximise his revenue from an interested audience.
I was supposed to make a presentation out of this work, but I was able to do this by taking and presenting my research to an event that was widely attended by the university, iExpo. In short, the event involves economists, entrepreneurs and experts from locally and further afield examining our posters, listening to our presentations and evaluating our projects, all at the same time. So the aim was to invite as many of them as possible to join us and be wowed. So that’s how I ended up coming second in the poster category, with a grant of 80,000 HUF.
Apart from the prize, I am also happy to have competed towards the end of my undergraduate studies, because it was a great opportunity not only to improve my project sales, but also to make contacts, as the event was also aimed at giving the guests contact details of the contestants they consider suitable for a future job interview, and luckily I can also strengthen the camp of these students.” Zalán Győző, Nagybajom Group 3
